Introducing our ArtGirl from Number 10 (2023).
Noemy Furcillo is a young model, as sweet in the eyes as she is determined and tenacious in life. She has clear ideas both in the care of her body, which she handles with great discipline, and in her human values: sincerity and respect come first. She acknowledges her beauty, but also her limitations, which then become her strengths.
What is Beauty for You?
Beauty is mainly based on self confidence, so feeling comfortable with yourself and this is reflected in what you see when you look in the mirror and what others will see of you. If you feel beautiful, others will see you as beautiful, if you feel confident, others will see you as confident.
Beauty is all about feeling good about yourself and loving yourself.
You call yourself a ‘fitness model’ why?
Because there is no more appropriate term to define how I feel. It’s not that my daily routine always revolves around fitness, but at the same time I care a lot about taking care of my body, I work out and follow a healthy lifestyle, also in terms of nutrition.
What is your life like outside the camera lens?
When I’m not on set, I spend time on my socials. I work on Instagram and on TikTok although in a minor way. I dedicate myself to content creation as a content creator. It is something I am very passionate about and it gives me a lot of satisfaction. For four years now I have been very focused on this and in the last two years I have also had some good satisfaction in terms of numbers.
Speaking of your Instagram, which is really popular, if in addition to pictures you could add words for those who follow you, what would they be?
I always try to get the message through that social media is not real life. I am not someone who posts her private life on social and I only pass on what I want on my channels. If I could add words it would be that I am not as perfect as I make myself look,
I don’t look good in every photo, like everyone else. I also have many weaknesses and NO days
that I prefer not to show on social media simply. Everyone has their own problems: you as well as me. So what you see is a part of the whole.
‘I wear imperfections’, so you declare. What are your imperfections and how much do you love them?
My imperfections are my nose, a few stretch marks. I wish I loved them more. I wish I could say that they are ‘body positive’, loved as you are… but the truth is that I struggle with them, I try to accept them but I struggle at many times. Sometimes people tell me I retouch photos and the answer is yes. It’s something that has always been done in photography and so has been done on social media. Of course it has to be an honest retouching, it can’t be a transformation, it can’t be unrecognisable.
What would you recommend to someone who wants to pursue your modelling career?
I would definitely recommend this career to those who have a strong enough character and self confidence, because it is a job that exposes you a lot in terms of image. This involves comments of all kinds. You can be hated, you can be body shamed, whether you are thin or strong, and you are also under pressure to meet the expectations people have of you. If you are not prepared to deal with this in the right way, you might suffer it in a negative way. Having said that, personally it is a beautiful career and for me it is also a form of expression both when I am on set and as a content creator. It helps me so much to vent, transmit and share who I am and what I like to do. However, it is not an easy job. If you think you can do it as a pastime or light work, no… it is not.
