EDITOR’S LETTER
When we conceived the idea of Art&Glamour over a year ago, our ideal horizon was broad but we never imagined we would open the ‘magic door’. We all understood the power of photography, but the genre we focused on certainly set limits, or so we thought.
On the contrary, the surprise was to see that there is no limit when beauty, expertise and years of study, professionalism speak. Above all, we have restored a cultural meaning to the body. Not a perfect and untouchable simulacrum, and therefore far removed from reality, as the myth of Psyche teaches us; and not a mere object, debased by the crudeness of provocation as an end in itself.
Nikolaj Roerich, Russian poet and activist, liked to say that woman would be the savior of mankind from chaos, through the bridge of beauty. We have no saving mission here, but we are content to bring a different, lateral, non-trivial, joyful and light thought, which instead does not mean superficial at all.
It is precisely photography that has the inimitable ability to make us dialogue with the most hidden parts of ourselves.
